About Firma M De Vries

Firma M. De Vries was founded in 1914. We started with clothing stores in the city center of Leiden and have developed into a real estate management and consultancy firm. Curious about the history of our company?

Navah Hochstein, daughter of Hetty De Vries-Hochstein, was appointed as the director of the company

Dolly De vries passed away and Hetty De Vries-Hochstein, the daughter of Dolly De vries, became the managing director of the company

After managing the clothing store for over 25 years, Dolly De Vries retired and the company changed its main activity from retail to the commercial property management of shops

A partnership was founded in Leiden between my great-grandfather Jozef De Vries and his 2 brothers Jacob De Vries and Godschalk De Vries. 4th generation general manager at Firma M. De Vries.  I am a commercial real estate entrepreneur and a leading expert in the field of marketing and retail. I also fulfill the roles of property manager and commercial advisor.

 

Why am I doing this?

  •   As the 4th generation in retail, I consider it my personal mission to revitalize the shopping areas 
  •   My goal is to increase loyalty and bond between companies and customers, so that they can generate more sales.
 

Since 1996 I have been working in both the offline and online commerce world. I have experienced shops  increasingly becoming vacant due to the growth of online sales. I have also found that one of the biggest challenges companies face is the lack of loyalty. Customers simply gravitate toward competitors, forcing companies to spend more and more money to attract new customers. I looked into this further and discovered that 30% of customers still prefer to make purchases in physical stores from brands they are already connected to. In addition, acquiring new customers and creating loyalty entails significant marketing costs.

I am convinced that a thorough analysis and a well-considered and strong location strategy, with an emphasis on physical points of sale where customers are located, will lead to customer loyalty and an increase in sales.
